RICK AND MORTY SEASON 4 IS NOT CONFIRMED?

IS IT A BAD THING?

Do you ever fancy pissing off a loyal and dedicated fanbase? Well, it looks like Adult Swim and the show’s co-creator Dan Harmon have done just that in the last few days. A tweet from Dan Harmon, nearly six months on from the Season 3 finale, has confirmed that Season 4 is yet to be renewed by the network.

First off, yes, I know people will be majorly pissed off at this news. The idea that a show as popular and much loved by its audience as Rick and Morty to not be currently making new episodes is indeed felt as a negative notion, but should it be? No! What many people seem to not realise is that animation is not as straight-forward as you may have hoped.

With three seasons and 31 episodes already produced since 2013, the show is already well weaved into the world. This show does not have a network like Fox who can put towards the costs of 20+ episodes a year, and we all know what too many episodes of an animated show can lead to. Put it this way, how many people still watch The Simpsons every week? The show works on quality over quantity and makes the most of a more limited budget compared to The Simpsons, Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers.

Also, just because the show may not be churning out new episodes for a while, that doesn’t mean we are getting nothing from Rick and Morty. The VR game ‘Virtual Rick-ality’ was released in 2017 for the Vive and Oculus Rift and will be making its way to Playstation VR next month for even more fans to get stuck into.

Want some more? Rick and Morty feature in the music video for ‘Oh Mama’ by hip-hop duo Run The Jewels. I have never listen to these guys before, but the track is actually quite addictive and the music video is a visual treat for bands of both the music and the show. Though this isn’t here to replace the show, it does show that Rick and Morty are definitely front and centre in our culture.

Need one more bit of comfort to help you through the long wait for Season 4? The home release of Season 3 will be available in the US from 15^th May on DVD and Blu-Ray, which is bound to be packed with many special features and that commentary which was recorded with Harmon and Justin Roiland with the fan who won the competition. The show may be a while away from returning, but Rick and Morty in one way or another will be around until the new episodes finally drop!

Rick and Morty is one of the rare shows where it has been able to go beyond cult status and expand to many different medias and crossover into various franchises, establishing a strong fanbase in such a short amount of time. Season 4 will be worth the wait, just as Season 2 and 3 were much appreciated when they finally came to our screens. It may be tough, but let’s enjoy what is around us until the new additions make their debut…just remember what Mr. Poopybutthole said the last time around, “Hopefully you didn’t Just F**k Around And Waste Your Life!”.

Pokken Tournament DLC: WHAT THE HELL?

The Nintendo Switch has had a great first year! And with that, the announcements and promises of great and varied content continues!

On Thursday 11^th January 2018, Nintendo showcased a selection of games and updates that would be hitting the Switch console in the next few months. With the announcement of a Dark Souls remaster, Mario Tennis Aces and also a release date for Kirby Star Allies, our excitement for the console was again brought back up. But, then there was some DLC announcements that were a bit questionable to say the least. Some people were upset about the Super Mario Odyssey update basically being a little 2 player mode, but it was the Pokken one that really got me.

The Nintendo Switch adaptation came out in September with a decent roster of Pokemon to choose from (21 to be exact, well 19 and 2 alternative versions). But Nintendo announced that a two-part DLC pack would come with each containing a new Pokémon fighter, two new supports and various costume changes for your character. For two new fighters, how much would you expect to pay? £3.99? £4.99? Well, you are way off!

£13.49 is the price! For two additional Pokemon to battle with, four for support and a few different skins for your avatar!! Isn’t this a bit pricey?!?! Well, you are not alone.

Nintendo have proven that they can do a DLC pack right in the past, Breath Of The Wild had a rather fun pack which gave you two new game modes which provided hours of entertainment. When I see what Pokken Tournament is offering for the price, I just don’t feel that excitement over the DLC. Don’t get me wrong, Blastoise is a fantastic addition to the roster, but who really wants Aegislash? NOT ME!

Sorry about the caps, but there are over 700 Pokemon to choose from! Maybe give us Onyx, Hitmonlee/Hitmonchan, Gallade, Garchomp, Genesect, Haxorus, Heracross, Tyranitar and just so many others that should be given the opportunity. I am happy for a few new Pokemon to boost the list of fighters, but please give us some that we would love to battle with. I know we have that new game on the horizon (at some point in the near future) so please do us all a favour and give us some combatants that we would love to control.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi. FILM REVIEW

*VERY MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD*

“Amazing. Every Word Of What You Just Said Was Wrong” – Luke Skywalker

2015’s The Force Awakens not only established a new trilogy in the Star Wars saga, the film also paved the way for many more exciting adventures and characters to come to us. While the last film was merely the stepping stones to the sequel trilogy, The Last Jedi shows the full potential of a Star Wars movie in this millennium and gives us the best entry since The Empire Strikes Back.

Beginning very shortly after the last film, the rebels are trying to escape the advances of The First Order in one of the greatest cinematic space battles I have ever seen. At the same time, we finally get to see what happens as Rey meets Luke Skywalker (yes, he does get to speak in this one). Rey needs Luke to help with both her own understanding of the force and help the resistance in their fight against the darkness.

Early in the film, we catch up with Finn, Poe, Leia, Chewie and well…everyone! We also get to see just how much of an impact the destruction of Starkiller Base has had on The First Order. The war is at its high point in this movie and the stakes have never been higher. The shocks are there and the action is breathless throughout, whether it was in space or amongst allies.

One thing we needed in this film was an answer to some of the big mysteries. We get a few answers and there is maybe one or two times in the movie where we have to accept we aren’t gonna be given everything! We also get to physically see Snoke, who inspires much evil and fear in his prominent appearance. Then we have Luke, we get to see what kept him away for all this time and we see just exactly how he feels about the war and his feelings about his nephew, Kylo!

Same as The Force Awakens before it and the spin-off hit Rogue One, The Last Jedi is a spectacle beyond my mere skills of explanation. The blend of practical effects and the best CGI that money can buy presents us with a depiction of the Star Wars universe that is impossible to hate. While a certain appearance will please the fans of old, one seen of a ship going into lightspeed presents possibly the greatest jaw-drop of the whole film.

Where as Episode VII was the first step back into this world, the new movie embraces what has come before it and ensures us that Star Wars is not afraid to break the cycle. Too many fans were possibly expecting a 2017 edition of The Empire Strikes Back, but that is not the case! Rian Johnson has created a piece which not only slots in perfectly to the established narrative, the film gives a sense of closure to some highly debated questions while keeping our excitement for Episode IX.

If I could pick my favourite character, I would only change my mind 5 minutes later. Mark Hamill does in this film what Harrison Ford did in The Force Awakens, this is a LUKE SKYWALKER film where as the last part was a HAN SOLO film. Without too much of a spoiler, we get to see a complete story for Luke and the pay-off is incredible.

Daisy Ridley is indeed the heart of the film, Rey is the character we are on the journey with and we do feel her need to learn and embrace the emotions she experiences on this story. Rey and Luke have a dynamic which is reminiscent to Luke and Yoda, but a lot more conflicted. Also, if you had any doubt about Kylo Ren as a villain, Adam Driver shows you in this movie that he is the most dangerous person (if still conflicted within himself) in this universe and someone you do not want to mess with.

We also get some other characters who shine in the extra screen time. Oscar Isaac’s Poe is fun and inspiring, Anthony Daniel’s C3PO gets a few decent laughs and newcomer Kelly Marie Tran gets to have a lot of fun with John Boyega’s Finn! We also sadly say goodbye to our Princess in this entry. Carrie Fisher has had a lot of attention on her in the last few years and it was her passing which really hit the fans hard. We all knew The Last Jedi was her last filmed appearance in this universe, but I can honestly say that Leia will be going out on such a great note. Nobody could ever replace Carrie Fisher and all I can say is that I wish we had maybe just a bit more from Carrie in this film.

The few gripes I have are just that, almost not worth the hassle. The film is a spectacle throughout and embraces the emotional and intimate beats perfectly. The action scenes remain fantastic and breathless as before. The only main issue I would have would be in the lightsaber battles, you need to watch the film to fully understand why. I just want to say I do like them, but there is nothing that compares to that fight in The Force Awakens!

With great character progression on multiple fronts, a real push in the story and a great set-up that will probably help for an easier wait for the fans wanting to see Episode IX, this film delivers all it needed to. Sure a few people may not like some of the choices, but you will indeed be surprised by this film and I for one can not wait to see what happens when J.J. Abrams comes back to conclude the trilogy.

The Disaster Artist. FILM REVIEW!

For anyone who has ever seen The Room, the 2003 film that was crafted by the very interesting Tommy Wiseau, you will know it is unlike any movie that has come before it or since. The Disaster Artist gives us the best look at one of Hollywood’s most mysterious personalities in a funny and yet moving piece of cinema.

At the beginning, we get to meet Greg Sestero (Dave Franco) in San Francisco at an acting class. During this class, Greg gets to meet Tommy Wiseau (James Franco, just give the man the Oscar already!) and the two instantly begin their journey to Hollywood.

While Greg wants nothing but to prove himself a star, Tommy actually challenges him and pushes Greg to take the leap and the duo try their luck. While Greg gets an agent with little work, Tommy is otherwise too proud to accept any help and believes himself to be perfect to play a hero in any film that he can. The duo then decide they should make their own film, this results in…you guessed it! THE ROOM!

While the movie has built up towards this point, the journey has so far been enjoyable and hilarious. The tensions and conflict begin within moments of The Room beginning production. The friendship build between the two central characters hits many bumps and the shoot of 40 days is surpassed with all involved in the film getting more irritated and angry.

The Disaster Artist addresses many questions that fans have had over the years. What is the story? Why is the Breast Cancer reveal never mentioned again? Where does the money come from? Where does Tommy come from? Some of this is addressed, other things we never find out, but is a bit of mystery a bad thing?

Ironically based on one of the worst films of all time, this has to be the best comedy to come from 2017. James Franco not only stars in this masterpiece, but also is the director. The rest of the cast are fantastic and provide a great amount of humour in their scenes. Seth Rogen gives some great one-liners as script supervisor Sandy, Alison Brie’s Amber is a welcome connection to Greg for him to connect with someone other than the eccentric Tommy and then you have Dave Franco who makes Greg a conflicted person between his need to become a serious actor and the dedication to his friendship with Tommy Wiseau. The cast bringing to life the original actors from The Room are all fun with a few cameos thrown in for good measure.

Overall, the best person in this film is the title star himself. James Franco makes Tommy both a figure of great humour and heart-breaking tragedy. Tommy clearly wants to be a star, but he hides his agony and frustration behind a façade until he comes to make The Room. The real Tommy is revealed to be more vulnerable than anyone else in this film and you feel for him more than you could possibly imagine.

To anyone who has seen The Room, you will love this movie. If you have never seen it, then you will still love The Disaster Artist. If you really wanted to see how this film compares to The Room, there is a chance to see what was originally shot. The direction of the movie is swift and fun with plenty of emotion and drama to break between the comical beats. Expect to see this as one of the big hitters for the Academy Awards!

Metallica – Live At The O2 Arena!

London, England. Sunday 22^nd October 2017

There was a great sense of anticipation for Metallica’s first UK tour for over 8 years! The band have come over many times for festival appearances and it was great to finally see James Hetfield and his band of merry rockers take over the O2 Arena for 2 hours of pure rock!

As this is a tour to promote their latest album HARDWIRED…TO SELF DESTRUCT, the album is given plenty of life in a setlist which blends the new songs with a great mix of the classics! ‘Hardwired’ and ‘Atlas, Rise!’ kick off the fresher section of the list, then we move on to ‘Seek & Destroy’ which gets the old and new fans jumping!

While the set goes between the old and new, there are very few gaps for air as the show is relentless and exciting throughout. The stage, being in the middle of the arena, meant that everyone could see the band clearly. Also, a great number of boxes floated around the stage which projected various images and added to an already incredible aesthetic for the show. We see the screens look like old TV’s, display fan art of the band and even depict music video sections.

‘Fuel’ sees the literal flames rise from the stage and ‘Moth Into Flame’ see a great array of lights fly around the stage in a visual spectacular! The highlight for me was reaching them last few songs. With ‘Master Of Puppets’ leading the end of the set with a blistering nine-minute performance and the encore providing the beautifully chilling ‘Nothing Else Matters’ and the almighty ‘Enter Sandman’ which was the perfect end to a brilliant show.

While I would have liked a few more classic tracks and a couple less of the newer songs, I can’t say I wasn’t blown away. The stage was set perfectly for all to see, the screens provided a great visual spectacle for all to see. Whether it was the ever-impressive vocals of James Hetfield, the hard-smacked drums of Lars Ulrich or the great guitar work of Kirk and Robert, they all made it work well. For a band that have 36 years of history, they still can pack out a crowd and wow them with so much energy!

All I will say is that it better not be eight years again for the guys to tour our fine country. This is rock music at its finest!

Thor: Ragnarok MOVIE REVIEW!

*Mild Spoilers*

Thor is a great Marvel character and he unfortunately has not had a great run when it comes to his own films. While I did enjoy the first movie and The Dark World was enjoyable with some great set pieces, this threequel was indeed a truly spectacular action film with so much comedy and ties into the MCU more than you may have imagined.

Chris Hemsworth returns to play Thor for the sixth time (following Thor 1 and 2, Avengers 1 and 2 and also his cameo appearance in Doctor Strange). Building on his more upbeat and joke-like nature from his last few appearances, Thor is at his best in this film as a more mature fighter but has the attitude of a frat guy! While he does embark on a journey throughout the cosmos, he does have a lot of fun along the way.

There is so much going on in this film, it does feel like a real journey as we travel between Earth, Sakaar and Asgard. Not much of a spoiler, but the impact of Thor losing his hammer does help with building the actual threat that new villain Hela represents (Cate Blanchett, who just steals the show and is deliciously evil from beginning to end). While Thor is thrown out of the picture and unable to stop Hela trying to take over Asgard, we see The God Of Thunder take on new challenges in the form of The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum), the Asgardian Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and an old friend with a bit of a temper (Mark Ruffalo, who is on screen less than his CGI counterpart)!

While we may not get a Planet Hulk film, consider this almost an epilogue to one we would have received. As Thor is forced into a gladiator style fight with the green hero, we see the two mighty Avengers battle it out in a brutal and enjoyable match-up. Avengers: Age Of Ultron may have seen Hulk take off to protect the earth, we find that he has been in Hulk mode for over two years and is considered a champion on Sakaar with a sense of intelligence and growth in that time. To have Hulk in this film is a stroke of genius and he fits in perfectly with everything that is happening.

As Thor has spent a few years trying to prevent Ragnarok from happening, we see him interact with many old faces and new. The few cameos that come up will bring an adrenaline shot to any Marvel Cinematic Universe fanatics and a few more laughs to go with the already strong comedic tone throughout.

Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, in possibly his least prominent role was still vital for a good chunk of the runtime and indeed shows why he is still one of the best characters to come from this franchise. Heimdall, Odin and even Doctor Strange all get their chance to shine in this film, but the big star apart from Thor and Hulk is definitely Hela. The Goddess Of Death is shown to be more significant to Thor than we could first have guessed and a consequence of their final interaction in the film will see a permanent change to the Thunder God.

If you think you know what will happen by the trailers alone, you are going to be in for a shock (God Of Thunder joke there!). While the dialogue may be more improvised than most other MCU works, the natural progression through their conversations is incredible. Hela is evil, but cool and Loki is still a sneaky bastard with more layers to him than an onion. Also, I would pay admission again just to see 2 hours of Jeff Goldblum playing…well, Jeff Goldblum as The Grandmaster!

Taika Waititi has indeed made a brilliant film. If another Thor is to be made or they need someone for a future MCU movie with a comic slant, why not get Waititi back? Also, he made the character Korg a great addition for the film series and I hope he will be back soon. The movie is a visual delight throughout and possibly the most impressive blend of action and effects that only Doctor Strange can rival. Also, this did feel like the film that could have been made in the 80’s and still wowed people today.

While the comedy may appear to be too strong in the film at certain times, the laughs are all well founded and the drama and action is still given enough time to breathe and stop the movie from just becoming a parody. Chris Hemsworth has grown into his role as Thor perfectly, and like Captain America: Civil War, has shown that his third outing with a team-up is certainly his best. Ragnarok may not be the best MCU film, but it’s definitely the funniest and most spectacular!

Rick and Morty – Season 3 Episode 9 REVIEW

‘The ABC’s Of Beth’

Is it fair that this is almost the end of Season Three? We get to see a bit more of Beth and Jerry this week as the title characters are occupied with their lives. While Jerry introduces Morty and Summer to his new alien warrior girlfriend Kiara, we get to learn a bit about Beth’s past and what happened to her childhood friend Tommy when Tommy’s dad is convicted of his murder.

Years ago, Rick made an imaginary world called “Froopyland” for Beth to give her a place to have fun in. One day, she went in there with Tommy and he ended up being left in there for years. While Beth tries to feel bad for leaving her friend in this world, in which he has survived by mating with the creatures of the land and then eating the offspring. Yes, the show went to that level and it was still funny…but sick!

During this episode, we do get a good look at Beth’s background and we see how much Rick has actually influenced her behaviour. While we have seen her try to lead her life and stay level-headed, she is not afraid to go all-out crazy and will f**k some s**t up in the process!

Meanwhile, Morty and Summer are very unsure over the situation with their father and his new girlfriend. Not only is she powerful, but her mentality can switch in a moment, meaning the family is put in danger because of Jerry’s usual stupidity. The references to Alien, Predator and Species is well rounded and gives a great sci-fi bent to the fantasy style happening with Beth and Rick.

Similar to other episodes, there is so many different points and events which have a great impact on the show. Whether you believe the Beth theory that stems from the end of the episode or believe that Rick is starting to become more “human” as the show goes on, this is a show that we may never get to fully understand.

Our main guest star this week is Silicon Valley’s Thomas Middleditch, who is brilliant but creepy as King Tommy. You see this colourful world full of wonder and you see how one creepy kid changed it into a place of disgust. As usual, Jerry is great to see and this is clearly Chris Parnell’s best episode for a while. Then we get Beth actress Sarah Chalke who really shows a different side to the woman we thought we knew so well, but it turns out that Beth is just like her father.

While we have had plenty of topics and events to go through, there is still so many answers we need. When will Tammy make her plans against Rick? Is Evil Morty about to come after the duo? Will Beth and Jerry actually get back together? With one episode to go, I get this feeling we may be waiting till at least Season 4 for some answers.

Leading in to the season finale, we have been given another great episode which just continues to expand this universe and ask more questions than we can answer.

Foo Fighters – Live at The O2 Arena, London

Tuesday 19^th September 2017

You wouldn’t expect to have such a great concert in the middle of the working week, but Dave Grohl and his band of merry men shook The O2 with a near 3 hour set of hits that wowed and amazed the crowd throughout.

The band begin their set with a rocking rendition of ‘I’ll Stick Around’ and then quickly blister through ‘All My Life’ before wowing the crowd with the almighty ‘Learn To Fly’. This show, as well as being part of the 10^th Birthday Celebrations for the Arena, was to promote the release of Foo Fighters ninth studio album CONCRETE AND GOLD. Yes, there was plenty of new songs too…

‘The Sky Is A Neighbourhood’ was slotted into the setlist early and it was amazing to see almost everyone singing this. Along with some other new tracks, we do get a version of ‘Rope’ with a greatly extended outro and ‘My Hero’ which begins as an intimate performance between Dave Grohl and the 16000 fans inside The O2.

Fancy a cover? ‘Tie Your Mother Down’ was performed by the rock band, and it was played in the presence of Roger Taylor and Brian May who were in attendance. Want another cover? How about ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’ with Rick Astley singing on stage with them? This was indeed so damn good, you couldn’t help but rock out to it.

The night continued with a great blend of tunes from all nine albums, I can’t think of many songs that were left out, this was a real collection of hits! When you get to ‘Best Of You’ and ‘Everlong’ at the end of the show, this is where the ultimate conclusion comes in. I will say I sung hard with every song that came on. Never have I known so many tracks by one band at a show.

For a one-off show in the UK, this was done with incredible precision and sounded fantastic throughout. Playing on stage for nearly 3 hours, the guys didn’t seem to beat a single drop of sweat. Dave Grohl was as usual on top form and could out-sing every single person in that arena. Then you have the awesome Taylor Hawkins on drums and then guitarists Nate Mendel, Pat Smear and Chris Shifett and not forgetting Rami Jaffee on keyboards. The whole band were tight and controlled without hitting a duff note.

I loved this gig, the Foo Fighters met all my expectations and more. I was unable to see the guys in 2015 when Dave broke his leg, but this surely was the best concert I have ever attended. Can it be topped? Only when the Foo’s return to these shores!

Rick and Morty Season 3 Episode 8 Review!

‘Morty’s Mind Blowers’

*Some Spoilers Ahead*

We have seen Morty go through many things that have angered, tortured and traumatized him. But what about the moments that REALLY affect him? Well, Rick has got a device which is able to erase Morty’s mind of these experiences and keeps these memories as bulb-like items called “blowers”.

Through the blowers, we learn a lot about the adventures the titular duo have been on which we never got to see and…we also sadly avoid an Interdimensional Cable 3! After having everything known to him by a magic turtle, Morty begs to have it taken out of his head. We then get to see some of the other things that have happened such as Morty being responsible for an innocent man’s death, swapping places with innocent people in a pet store prison and even making an alien doubt his own beliefs.

As the blowers continue, we find that they aren’t all because of Morty’s choices. We also see that the family have also given him some bad times, and then there is Rick…the one who truly f**ked with Morty’s little mind! We find that Rick has caused so much chaos to Morty and then the two begin to fight and they both end up losing their memories completely.

We find out a lot about what has happened to the characters in the stories that weren’t shown in full, this includes one big revelation about their world. While the episode primarily focuses on these two, we learn that Summer has got a vital role within ‘Morty’s Mind Blowers’ and shows she could truly be the smartest out of all of them. Then we also get that great scene at the end which gives Jerry his first role in ages and it’s a truly well made one!

A big inspiration for this was Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind and it also feels like Interdimensional Cable with a Treehouse of Horror twist. As much as I normally enjoy the usual collection of ad-libbed commercials and shows, it was good to get an insight into the adventures and events we never got to see. After seeing this episode, it just throws out more questions and will be a basis for more fan theories.

When you see there were six writers in total for this episode, it was great to see this story was really fleshed out amongst the whole team. Each part or “blower” were indeed well presented and the revelations that come from some of them will indeed change the way you see the show. Justin Roiland, like last week, plays off himself well during his dual role as Rick and Morty. Sarah Chalke’s Beth is also shown to be very much ready to abandon Morty without giving it a second thought, showing it’s not just Morty who has genuinely been affected by Rick over the years.

Going into episode 9 and 10, I start to think I will be upset when the season comes to an end in a fortnight, but Season 3 has been fantastic. I am sure we will get a satisfying pay-off with Evil Morty in control of The Citadel and where the hell is Bird Person Phoenix Person and Tammy? I still think they will combine forces to defeat Rick! Also, as he has only appeared in half the series and in some minor roles, please give us another full episode with Jerry, I miss that loser.

A great episode, a new perspective and truly a great successor to Interdimensional Cable!

‘The Ricklantis Mixup’

‘Tales From The Citadel’

*Mild Spoilers*

We knew there was more to this episode than a trip to Atlantis…well, I knew. Rick and Morty of C-137 enjoy a trip to the fabled underwater paradise after briefly getting an update on The Citadel. Instead of an episode following the two characters we actually know, we are taken to The Citadel where we learn what has happened since Rick tore them down and left them in a struggle with the Intergalactic Government.

We follow a few different story threads throughout the episode. We find a Rick cop joining a Morty as they go on patrol, we have a school of Morty’s going on an adventure, there is a Rick at a Wafer factory who hates his job and then there is the election. Since The Citadel is starting anew, they look to bring in a new president, the candidates consisting of Ricks and one Morty.

Throughout the episode, we jump between these different stories and it takes a while to realise why we follow the threads that have been chosen. Getting different perspectives of Ricks is always fun, showing that not all of them are bastards. Doofus Rick was an example of a guy who was kind and not a dick to everyone. The Cop Rick is a not a bad guy and tries to do what he thinks is best, his interactions with the experienced Morty cop show how their lines can blur and make you think differently about these characters.

This episode is probably the best of Season Three so far for just the election for President of The Citadel. The Morty Party clearly are the underdogs, but they get a sudden surge when their lead Morty states equal points about both Ricks and Mortys. Then we find the campaign manager for the Morty (yes, another Morty) is trying to now stop Morty from getting into power, but why? Bloody hell, it is hard to say anything but Rick and Morty as the episode is literally just infinite versions of them.

This is without a doubt my favourite episode of Season Three so far! As I mentioned in previous reviews, it is always great to get into the minds of the central duo. We have never really had an episode that took us away from our main narrative, but it works incredibly well because it shows what happens after The Citadel is destroyed and how the infinite Ricks and Mortys carry on. We saw previously how the Cronenberg Universe changed and if The Citadel is anything to go by, it will only get worse.

Justin Roiland must have hated this episode as he only acts with himself throughout the 22 minute run time, but this indeed is his best work on the show this year. We get Mortys who interact with each other, Ricks who communicate to one another and their attitudes that vary to what we knew previously. We got Mortys in a Stand By Me situation and a Rick and Morty doing Training Day. Then there is that ending, oh my f***ing god that was brilliant!

There are only 3 episodes to go, let’s just hope the building blocks that have been placed will come to full form very soon. Seeing The Citadel for a whole episode was insightful and you now don’t know whether to trust a Rick or a Morty!

Evil Morty has returned, he has become President of The Citadel and looks like he could be coming for Rick of C-137 very soon. Morty has been shown to be horrible recently, and the other Mortys show that it’s not hard to believe a Morty could want to kill all the Ricks. Would it be possible to see Evil Morty and Tammy team up for the finale? Maybe using Birdperson Phoenix Person to fight Rick?
